Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School in the year 1992, began studying marine biology. Bossard started her professional career in the field of commercial fish worker in the year 1999. She began to work on the F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner that was turned into a Salmon tender, for Murat Aritan, who had been working in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has been engaged to Aritan she has joined forces in order to claim their businesses. Both are advocates conservation of sustainable, renewable sources of seafood. Otolith launched its direct market wholesale distributor in Philadelphia when Bossard came back from her home home with her two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. She and her husband are separated by five months, and more for her to be focused on her financial goals and environmental concerns. Bossard with her son Andre 10, and Isabella 12 each year return in Southeast Alaska as deckhands to harvest wild salmon during summer.
